Our Team

SSJ Fusion is a girls under-13 Premier soccer team. We are located in South San Jose and are ranked 10th in the nation, 9th for the region and 6th for Northern California. After an amazing performance in the State Cup, the SSJ Fusion is advancing to the Far West Regionals in Phoenix, AZ. We appreciate your contributions and support!

We are a family oriented team with moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles and siblings regularly attending games and cheering on our players. We maintain a positive environment for our girls and emphasize:

  • Player Development
  • Always doing your personal best
  • Respect for the game, the refs, the coaches, each other and the opponents
  • Teamwork

    Our situation is unique in that we are coached by unpaid parents (1 mom and 2 dads) of 3 of our players. They are highly skilled coaches and emotionally attached to this team. They work together as a coaching team and are open to feedback from parents. They care about developing our players as “the whole child” not just as an athlete.

    Our team also has a professional photographer and a professional dietician who supports our players.

    Our team is funded entirely by Sponsor support and fundraising activities. We believe in doing fundraising that is high quality and high dollar value (and that does not take a lot of time!). A typical year of fundraising activities includes:

  • An apple fundraiser
  • A rummage sale
  • An opening day booth

    All families are expected to participate in the fundraising activities – but don’t be scared off – we have a great time!

    Lastly, we believe in social activities: summer barbeques, ice cream socials, trips to see the SCU women play!

    These players work hard together as a team but also like to hang out with each other off the field.
